Dragon power and GOT oh my. I am going to for the most part spare you the it’s been a billion years since I posted on this blog, and bla bla bla. Yes it has been a million years, yes I am working on that but also trying not to beat myself up to much about it and YES I am still struggling with the exact direction I would like this blog to take. I am hoping to get that sorted in the near future, I really am. I have been making good headway on my general game plan and with a little more solid help and guidance I think I will get there.

But let us all take a moment to talk about this final season of GOT shall we?

I mean really the dragon!

Writing is much like many things in life, like desire, want sometimes it is the small and simple things that inspire us/mean the most to us in life. Take this quiet and yet so loud scene from Poldark for example. Ross has been a clot, he knows he has been a clot and it will only get worse ( for those who know the story line ) but in this moment he was a man who knew he’d fumbled things and was making an honest and true effort to right the ship in someway.

I’ve set out fans and ice to the right over there. *snickers* I joke but I think anyone who see’s the scene will agree that it is sensual, steamy, lovely and a variety of other things at once. All of this wrapped up in a holiday gift and a pair of socks. Dare you to see that next holiday pair of socks from Grandma the same after watching this scene *LOL*. It is all in the intent, the eyes, the movements putting on a sock (please note he didn’t actually get the entire pair on lol ) something simple that ends up being wildly sensual and meaningful.

This is something I feel much of current TV & movies is missing, but slowly we are seeing a trend that is returning to these things. Even within romantic fantasies and the like it always tells a better story when it is more real, more like life as we see it. How many couples have gone through the simple measures of helping their other with socks? Or maybe a shirt? Skirt? On or off, its very real compared to the big fancy house parties and such.

Yet this scene for me is also bittersweet because I know what is to come. I know the mistakes that BOTH Ross and then Demelza will make. That too is very much like life isn’t it? We are all human and we make mistakes, it is what we do to fix and repair them that can truly matter. I believe that TRUE love can overcome ALMOST anything so long as both parties are willing to put in the work. Ross and Demelza never have a perfect relationship of course (what relationship is) but they do put in the work. Following the books they will go on to have a total of 4 children over the span of 20 years that we follow the family, so there is more then an heir and a spare as they say.

The simple things, they truly are the things we must hold onto as we all plod through this life. For when we are old (Gods Willing) and laying awaiting to go and meet the Gods and greet those who have gone before it is all those simple things that make a life. Oh sure there will always be some fantastic moments, those big glowing “best moments of my life” but they are not as many as the simple things. The simple beautiful moments they form our life, who we are and all the rest.

I am slowly following my way back to inspiration hopefully I can find some sanctuary again as well. For now I will enjoy the simple things. Like needing a fan after watching this video to make this post.

When you think of the bad guys on TV there are many. Jeoffrey is probably one of the most universally hated characters in all of land of fiction. I mean people literally threw parties over the purple wedding. I mean I know I did! I still grin about it, little bastard had it coming.

Screen-Shot-2014-04-13-at-11.06.49-PM

And then I have really always disliked this guy, Brutus is not the actor Tobias. That is more a personal thing for me however.

brutus

I am a Caesar girl, always have been, always will be. For reason of history and past lives, all of those kind of things. So of course the moment he was announced as being Brutus in HBO’s Rome I just had to dislike him. But really, in the grand scheme of things, Brutus was not all bad. He was in fact pushed to it by the people around him. So I do understand that and for his part Tobias is an amazing actor and he really did convey the turmoil that Brutus went through.

Then he showed up on TV as this guy.

BlackJack

To be fair, he of course also plays Frank but he has had much more screen time of as Black Jack Randall. Possibly the most evil man in the history of book’s and now TV. He is truly a man who has no soul. He does the most vile and terrible things and really does not care at all for anything but his own pleasure. He truly takes joy in destroying people, playing games and getting what he wants. What he does to Jamie, the way he toys with Claire and what he does to poor young Fergus. It does indeed make for riveting TV, but it also makes for very hard to watch and uncomfortable TV. Very uncomfortable. I know what things are coming myself and I still find it very, very hard to watch some scenes.

That is of course the sign of excellent acting. Tobias, who is a very kind person in real life, very gentlemanly and really would never even dream of causing someone any harm. As my friends and I sometimes jokingly say, he is what is a typical Brit, ever so polite and will tell you sorry if he so much as gently bumps into you. With all of that known you see him as Jack Randall and he really does convince you how evil he is, even his eyes have that look of someone who is dead inside. No light, except for that light of evil.

That all hit home once again as I watched perhaps the most heartbreaking Outlander yet. As Jack Randall once again completely destroyed Jamie and Claire’s life and they are left to pick up the pieces of a shattered life. It drives home the hate again. Even though I knew full well what was coming I sobbed for nearly the whole episode. While of course Jamie could have made a different choice and Claire also could have made other choices, it really boils down to the evil festering wound that is Black Jack Randall finding more and more ways to tear their life apart. Of course you know even despite his own wound given to him by Jamie is probably a small price in his mind. He likely even enjoyed it knowing that sorry bastard.

I for one very much look forward to the day that bastard is dead. There will be an even bigger party, then there was for the death of Jeoffrey on my end at least. At least there is some good news in all this sorrow and sobbing. Black Jack Randall will not win. He may break Jamie and Claire down and rip them apart, but they always come back together. They find one another again in that darkness that he creates and like a broken bone, they mend and then they are stronger then they were before the break happened.

JamieandClaire

This is what makes the story of Outlander so compelling or at least one of the reasons. Outlander is a true love story full of all the blood and grit and tears that comes with real life relationships. Black Jack Randall though, he just keeps getting nastier and just when you think you can’t possibly hate him anymore, he does something like he did with Fergus.

Good TV for sure, now I have to go dab my eyes some more because Faith is an episode I will never be able to watch without feeling emotional. I think that goes the same for many Outlander fans.

I am SO behind in TV show’s that I am just now cottoning on to Rupaul’s drag race, even though it’s just wrapped up it’s been on for 8 seasons now. Whoops! With that said I am mad I missed it before now and I am working hard on catching up with binge watching. I have come away with a few things, the biggest one being Ru can be an evil witch sometimes! I say that with love! Some of the challenges on this show are just cruel and fun to watch happen.

The other is something I already knew from attending drag shows in Minneapolis, Queens are super talented. Some are jack of all trade types and some are better at one or two things. Either way there is talent all over the place. Yeah, some of the makeup is way way way way over the top and some of the costumes are cringe worthy, but for the most part you must just love it all. After all drag means dressed as a girl (drab is dressed as a boy) and they really are meant to go over the top with it.

I do not watch much reality TV, but I am hooked on Rupauls drag race and so not sad about it. I found my spirit animal after all…Bianca del Rio.

She is so mean and yet…so funny. She is also mean to herself if you watch the Rupaul roast in full. At least I can catch up on the Drag race while working. Always makes me happy to be doing two things at once.

the_woman_and_the_detective_by_kanahyde-d4lks88

You all know I am a Sherlock beast fan, lol so I was happy to see this article and had to share it with everyone.

Good news for fans of Sherlock, co-creator Steven Moffat has said the hit BBC show could be around for a very long time.

And the reason for its longevity could be down to the way the detective drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock and Martin Freeman as Dr Watson is filmed.

Moffat who is also the Doctor Who showrunner told the Guardian newspaper at the Cannes Lions advertising festival in France: “Had we done the conventional form of a TV series which is to do runs of six or twelve, it would be over by now without doubt, it would be finished.

“Because [the cast] would never again commit that amount of time that regularly to a TV show, they just wouldn’t, why would they?

“But given the strange form of Sherlock which is every two-and-a-half years we get together and we make three, means that it can go on for a very long time.”

Scenes from the third series of Sherlock were filmed at the Daffodil restaurant in Cheltenham and there has been no announcement about when the next series will be broadcast.

Both Cumberbatch and Freeman have become huge stars Cumberbatch starred in Star Trek Into Darkness while Freeman is starring in The Hobbit trilogy of films.

AlmostHuman1__131115072956

It would seem almost everytime that I get into a show it gets the axe from the network. Fox has always been the biggest fiend of this as far as shows that I like. Seems my record is going pretty much on par with news today that Almost Human has not been picked up for a second season.

Bonehead move Fox, seriously Bonehead move. While I understand on some level that the show was expensive to produce and it wasn’t getting super sonic ratings it had a solid following and was getting BETTER as it went.I truly am one who thinks that some shows really need more then one small season to get going to latch people in. A show like Almost human is one of those shows, but hey wouldn’t be the first time they took a show like that and then canned it.

So yeah I am not happy with the TV lords that are out there and may go back to not bothering with new shows at all because I get tired of getting into them and having the rug pulled out from under me. Fox has a pretty weak line up overall anyways this was one that would have gotten stronger as it went.

Worst yet now we never get to know what was on the otherside of that stupid wall!

Alright I am a book reader, this is a known fact and I enjoy books a great deal. I like TV shows and in most cases I respect that the book/movie/tv show are different things. I can accept that they will make changes to make it work or make it more dramatic..that said..and here is the alert.

SPOILERS DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT IF YOU DONT WANT SPOILERS OR HAVENT SEEN GAME OF THRONES. IT IS NOT A PLOT SPOILER BUT A SCEHE SPOILER. WARNING SPOILERS.

river-song-spoilers

You do not completely make a character do something against the very cannon that makes them the character! WTF writers. Jamie is not the most likeable character in the world. We know this, however he does make a journey of redemption. A big long journey that slowly tends to make you like him again. He is not perfect I mean he is a Lannister strike against him.

However….MANY things he may be a rapist is not one of them. Never. Not at all. No. He stood up to keep a woman from getting raped. HELLO. He killed people for itHELLO.

So writers WHY did you do that WHY did you make him into a rapist? WHY. It served no purpose. In the books they had sex there yes, but it was not unwilling. There was no shouting of No, and I don’t care if people argue she was holding onto him at the end point, no means no. I don’t like Cersei at all but no means no.

So thanks writers for making me really not like you at all. Thanks for making me want to stop watching a show I enjoyed for that. Really appreciate it.

Well at least you cured me of starting to like Jamie in the show.

Oh and for those who may wanna debate it ( I am open to that) here is the text, yes some objections are raised at one point..but nothing at all like the drawn out angry scene we got on TV.

She kissed him. A light kiss, the merest brush of her lips on his, but he could feel her tremble as he slid his arms around her. “I am not whole without you.”

There was no tenderness in the kiss he returned to her, only hunger. Her mouth opened for his tongue. “No,” she said weakly when his lips moved down her neck, “not here. The septons…”

“The Others can take the septons.” He kissed her again, kissed her silent, kissed her until she moaned. Then he knocked the candles aside and lifted her up onto the Mother’s altar, pushing up her skirts and the silken shift beneath. She pounded on his chest with feeble fists, murmuring about the risk, the danger, about their father, about the septons, about the wrath of gods. He never heard her. He undid his breeches and climbed up and pushed her bare white legs apart. One hand slid up her thigh and underneath her smallclothes. When he tore them away, he saw that her moon’s blood was on her, but it made no difference.

“Hurry,” she was whispering now, “quickly, quickly, now, do it now, do me now. Jaime Jaime Jaime.” Her hands helped guide him. “Yes,” Cersei said as he thrust, “my brother, sweet brother, yes, like that, yes, I have you, you’re home now, you’re home now, you’re home.” She kissed his ear and stroked his short bristly hair. Jaime lost himself in her flesh. He could feel Cersei’s heart beating in time with his own, and the wetness of blood and seed where they were joined.

Another week and another great episode of Almost Human, this show never fails to disappoint and I really hope Fox keeps it they must or I may just never watch Fox again. So on tonights episode we have the opening with Kennex at an anger management class. He is acting of course all happy and nothing is wrong and bothering me and the teacher does not seem to be buying it. Call me crazy but I am not really 100% buying it either. It is a funny scene though.

The crime of the day is a magic bullet, yup you heard me. Makes me wonder if it was a time traveler who killed Kennedy, but I digress. The second funny moment comes with Paul’s MX, he keeps prattling in on a terrible little scenario that has like .04% probably and well let us just say MX down Kennex shoots it in the face. To be fair before he did that he tried putting his hand over its mouth and various other ways of getting it to shut up. His Captain is of course not very amused by that and he gets a reaming, hey I can’t blame him for shooting the MX, I would have too personally.

In the course of working on solving the case there are many twists and turns which Dorian and Kennex have to deal with, including Dorian taking a bullet for another target and speaking a different language until Rudy fixes him. The episode ends with the team saving the day, a gun battle and just in general some good action and then Kennex having a touching moment with the woman he saved after showing her that her boyfriend was blackmailed to protect her and her Daughter.

My favorite points of this show will continue to be the relationship between Kennex and Dorian and the scenes in the car are always great. However I appreciate the glimpses they show us of both Dorian and Kennex being more human, it levels everything out nicely. Well rounded show with really good writing and the acting, well excellent.

Alright, I was not going to comment to much on this because well frankly I don’t really give a flying hoot about Duck Dynasty as a show. I do not watch it, I do not understand why the merchandise is everywhere. I do not understand the whole phenomenon as a whole. Then again I don’t understand all the reality TV things anyways. I digress.

So southern man who is known as a very conservative Christian spouted off at the mouth and showed that he is really a bigot, and everyone is really surprised? I mean seriously? Now I do not agree with what he said one bit, in fact I think what he said is about as foul as you can get. EVEN if his supporters are claiming but he wouldn’t treat them rude, or whatever it was he said after the bigot part. I am sure I am lumped into his bad people list because I am a Pagan and guess what, I am just fine with that. Plenty of people closer to me then some random millionaire with a beard have lumped me into that box and I am okay with it.

So everyone else is spouting that he shouldn’t have been fired and that it violated his right to free speech.  Sorry folks WRONG. He has the right to say whatever he wants and he did say it and no one said he couldn’t say it. However it is also the companies right to want to distance themselves from someone with those kind of views. Does no one remember the whole Dixie Chicks fiasco years ago? Kind of the same thing, only back then people were all for the Dixie Chicks getting what they got.

Not to mention I would also point out to the supporters that A&E did not actually fire him, they suspended him. There is a difference. Same as would be for a person in a real job place. You have a right to go in and tell your employer they suck or something else and they have a right to suspend or fire you.

So yes..Phil Robertson has a right to spout off at the mouth and sound like a bigot.

And A&E has a right to want to distance themselves from those kinds of views.

And I have a right to think it is all just getting way to much news play..and once again say, People are REALLY surprised?

Just when you think that Almost Human cannot get any better they come out with this episode. Another fantastically intense episode that makes you question a lot of things. Along with the great chemistry between John and Dorian that has them bickering like an old married couple, they actually pick up a second Dorian unit. I was pretty sure watching that point that John was going to explode all over, but it was funny and added a nice injection of light hearted enjoyment that you would need to carry you through the rest of the episode. Because the rest of the episode was intense.

John and Dorian get a case that leads to uncovering a black market organ scheme. In this future not only can they grow new organs but they have synthetics that are expensive but a lesser option to the fresh grown ones. What happens when you die though? Well the organs are supposed to be destroyed however the market that is found takes the used organs refits them and places them into patients. The bad side? They put these patients on a timer and then blackmail them for money. Miss a payment they turn you off. No heart and well we all know what happens then to human beings. The pulse pounding keeps at it as Dorian and Kennex work with the rest of their team to get to the bottom of this illegal ring. Unfortunately it also causes deaths because as soon as the bad guys know the police are onto them they do not reset the clocks.

Everything about this episode was intense and designed to make you feel like your pulse was in your throat. Right down to the background music when they were going back and forth between the clocks and the cops and the people. The countdown and the music that literally felt like it had a pulse in the background were all designed to draw your further into the episode. Bottom line, this show keeps getting better and more brilliant. John and Dorian make the perfect team and bad guys in the future are still as evil as they are today.
