Born in the Tundra of Minnesota, I have since become a bit of a Gypsy. Currently calling home base the hot sands of Arizona, I do still travel often. Whether the journey is a physical one, or one taken by reading a fantastic book it doesn't matter, the fun is always in the adventure. As always I am an eclectic person that likes a wide array of things and has many passions. Creating, advocating for animals and Mothering just to name a few.

Set in the near future of 2048 crime rates have skyrocketed and now all cops are required to ride with an android partner. Det. John Kennex lived through a fire fight that killed everyone else that was involved including his human partner and took down the MX units too (watch the show you won’t feel so bad about that.) two years previous to the events we see unfolding in the premier. After chucking his required MX unit out of the car (I laughed, a lot) Det. Kennex gets paired with an older more human model called a DRN, or Dorian.

Those who know me know I love a good Sci-Fi and there is no secret either about the Karl Urban love (winky wink nudge nudge) so combine the two PLUS a cop show you have hit the trifecta for me. Fox does have a history of not giving Sci-Fi shows a chance to get traction, but it does seem they are in full swing support of this one if you go by the advertising. So how was the first episode?

For me it was fantastic. You get a jaded angry human cop paired with what is supposed to be an android who turns out in these moments to have more emotion then the human. The banter between the two of them is fast paced and funny there are really some fantastic quips including talking about being turned off (in the computer sense) and some interesting information about olive oil.

The pacing of the show itself is good, you have some big action shots and you get the logic of crime solving as well. There are some big bads that are being hashed out and targeted I can not wait to get some more information on the bad guys, including Detective Kennex’s ex-girlfriend. Judging by this first episode this one to keep watching and should be a fantastic hit Karl Urban and Michael Ealy are a great duo.
