Kevin Bacon was good in his role as Hardy the retired FBI agent who originally catches Joe Carroll. However for me I felt that Purefoy eclipsed him in the Series pilot. I am a fan of Purefoy to begin with, however there is just something about him in this role that draws you in. He is a bad guy, you know he is a bad guy and yet you want to know more about him. You find yourself charmed and curious to see what else he is going to do next even though you know it will be bad. It is not hard to see how he managed to get a Following, I found myself asking would I be one that he could have recruited? Maybe so.

The idea that a serial killer could go online and gather followers. Not only gather followers but turn people into killers, is a fantastic plot idea. We all know how the internet is. How easy it is to do things you might not normally do. We have also seen the mob mentality in full force. Anyone who has spent any kind of time on forums, or social media has seen this. One person takes a dislike to another and let the flame war begin. Carroll uses his charm and this mob mentality to his advantage. Within the first episode we see he already had a league of people willing to kill themselves, kill others, kidnap and who knows what else for him.
