My first reply to the results, America got it right based on last night’s performances. Over all round two was a very disappointing affair, but the three that shone are the three that got the nod. I have to say that in watching everything on the performance round, Allison Iraheta certainly took a risk, singing Heart is not an easy task, being as in this writers opinion Ann Wilson is one of the finest rock singers of all time. So I regard to the beautiful Allison, Randy Jackson said it right “16 and she blew it out the box!”
Kris Allen made me sit up and take notice of him; obviously I was not the only one in America either. Simon was right in his review on Wednesday of saying that he could be forgettable, but certainly not with his showing with Man in the Mirror, pitchy in places but over all a good move for him, and I am very happy that he has moved on. Bravo America for showing the evil new judge that she was wrong, on the wonderful Kris Allen.
Adam Lambert has to be my least favorite of the picks to go on to the next round from last night, however with the over all picks of what was to be offered he was certainly the right choice for the evening. America showed last night with its voting choices that the strong will survive in this show, and it’s not all about the Norman gentles of the world. Sorry for you Norman Gentle lovers, but that man worked this writer’s last nerve. If you’re going to sing, sing, don’t sugar it up with an odd personality. When you have the chops you have them, and it shows. If you do not have the chops, America will tell you about it and show you the Idol door.
