Looking over my old Meme’s and deciding if any were worth starting again because I am enjoying making sure there is fresh content on my blog I remembered one that I started sometime back and decided I will indeed make it happen again. I suspect my friend Anah may even join in.
So here is how it works:
The Saturday Sanctuary will be a Weekly Writing Post. I will ask something or give a topic. Sometimes it will be short, sometimes it might be longer. The idea is just to write! So others can read. I thought it would be a great idea for a Book Blog to do something about writing. We are bloggers after all so we must have some enjoyment of writing too! So hop on in and Join the Saturday Sanctuary, grab our link and our picture and post your replies here. Make sure you visit others blogs out there and leave comments. Mostly have fun.
Now with the initial description posted, the one I first started with I am going to of course make some amendments. But I did not want to forget the Meme’s start over at Fire & Ice so I posted the starting description. Clearly it has now been moved to the writing and other creative stuff blog which is even more suitable if you ask me 😉
Where do you find inspiration to write?
It can be tough sometimes to find inspiration to write whether it is for creative purposes or technical purposes. I know lately I have been on a bit of a slump and sometimes it takes me hours to pull one page out of my head and put it where it needs to be. Now granted some of that might be the soul ending boring that is dental/financial & real estate articles, but it has been on other stuff as well. So where do you find your inspiration?
I have found that music is a good help, it does not always work but if I have the right playlist I can get more work done then I thought I was going to get done. Aside from that sometimes walking away from the project is the best thing to do. At least for a little bit to get your head clear. Sometimes reading a new book or writing a letter to a friend something of that sort helps get the brain to work around some more.
When in doubt force yourself to write about anything else. I have had times where I literally just write what seems like gibberish for a long time (pages of it) until finally I have whatever is blocking me out and I can get back to focusing on the work I was meant to be doing. It might not always be the most time friendly choice but sometimes it is the only one to be made, unless of course I just want so stare at the blinking cursor for the next few days.
