Born in the Tundra of Minnesota, I have since become a bit of a Gypsy. Currently calling home base the hot sands of Arizona, I do still travel often. Whether the journey is a physical one, or one taken by reading a fantastic book it doesn't matter, the fun is always in the adventure. As always I am an eclectic person that likes a wide array of things and has many passions. Creating, advocating for animals and Mothering just to name a few.

Time for a mail related post as I have not made one in a little bit of time here. I am going to try to start dedicating Friday’s to snail mail and then of course post whatever else about it along the way. Anyways it is Christmas time which is one of the times of year we see more people sending snail mail because they are sending Christmas cards. However boxes of the cards can be pretty expensive and a little generic. The good news is most of us mail senders are pretty good at making crafts and Christmas cards are no exception.

Season-to-Share

Kraft paper and some nice accents are one way to do it and I know my Mom personally likes to use this kind of style a lot. She sends some great handmade cards out every year to some of the family members and she always sends my favorites. I like a simple but well accented card.

Raised up pieces in cards is a popular one too. I know when I am making ATC’s and such I love using a pop up or higher raised item because it adds a little bit of a pop to the card. I think the same goes for Christmas cards or any handmade card. Something that gives it a little something unexpected.

I love the warm and home feeling of this one with the mitten that hugs across it. Personally this one feels like it is more winter themed then full on Christmas but I love that. You can of course put any of your own wording on the card, maybe you want to aim it into something that is solstice or Yule or just a happy winter wish.

Fabric and some fabric paints make for a very cute design on cards too. I know I am always taking a look around the house for things that I can use for crafting that one would not usually think to use. I have made some pretty cute stuff that people have liked doing that.

Happy Holidays!
