Born in the Tundra of Minnesota, I have since become a bit of a Gypsy. Currently calling home base the hot sands of Arizona, I do still travel often. Whether the journey is a physical one, or one taken by reading a fantastic book it doesn't matter, the fun is always in the adventure. As always I am an eclectic person that likes a wide array of things and has many passions. Creating, advocating for animals and Mothering just to name a few.

HEADS – “One”
*or*
TAILS – “Won”

Make any kind of post using either theme (“One” or “Won”) as your prompt. You can even use both!

I am going with heads on this post. And so I shall be writing about one. There is song called one is the loneliest number. I have given that one some thought lately and I don’t think that is true. While it’s always preferable to be with friends, and family in a group. That doesn’t make being “One” or alone necessarily bad.

There are some days when I do just want to be “one” and left alone. Where I don’t want to deal with the wants of others or anyone else. Surely everyone has those days. But not only that is one can be something that you can enjoy. It only takes one person to make candles (which I love to do). It only takes one person to scrapbook. It only takes one person to make a blog entry. It only takes one person to write an interesting story.

So in essence one is not a lonely number it’s just a solitary one that you can find enjoyment in if you try.

    Hi Ambrosia,
Very true! A very thoughtful blog post. I think it’s important to spend time with just yourself occasionally, you need to be comfortable in your own company to truly understand who you are. I do love some company though and my sister’s great company for scrapbooking when we can really laugh at those old photos!

Being an empty nester with a husband that works ten hour days, I know about being “one”. For most of the time I’m ok with it as I find things to keep me busy also.

It’s always better to be alone than to be lonely in the company of others.

Nice to see you again. =)

It only takes a few hours of being with a group of people to make me enjoy a bit of solitude again.

As an only child I had to learn to be happy by myself. As an adult I am as content by myself as I am with others and realize what an unusual skill that is. ~ Calico Contemplations
