Born in the Tundra of Minnesota, I have since become a bit of a Gypsy. Currently calling home base the hot sands of Arizona, I do still travel often. Whether the journey is a physical one, or one taken by reading a fantastic book it doesn't matter, the fun is always in the adventure. As always I am an eclectic person that likes a wide array of things and has many passions. Creating, advocating for animals and Mothering just to name a few.

So 2012 and at a close. It was a year full of ups and downs for me. I won’t go into to much of it as I am sure by now everyone has read at least half a dozen posts of the same nature be it on a blog or on facebook. I will instead focus on what I accomplished in terms of my mail goals and what I plan to do for 2013.

My mailing goal for 2012 was to send 1000 letters/postcards/Atc’s. I am happy to say I not only met that goal I sent 1304 pieces of mail. Not a bad year at all right? I did not include mailing of bills in there even though it was tempting because there is some guaranteed sends every month.

For 2013 I am making a much smaller mail goal. Why you ask? Well because I plan to try to keep a full log of what kind of mail I am sending as well and I wish to focus more on that. My fellow mail lover Missive Maven has a very nice system of mail. I am not sure I am going to go that big for this year, I want to ease into it.So I will focus right now on how many of what I send this year is letters, how many postcards and how many ATC and such. I have my notebook ready and I am eagerly poised to start my first mail for 2013.

I also have some other plans for the year. Getting Noteably yours into a workable condition again. Also a new venture with my friend Cassandra called Goddess Creations. I can not wait to share that with everyone. So I hope that everyone has had a decent 2012 and let us get ready to make a new fresh start.

Happy New Year.

I am watching ID4. Best speech ever..

The President: Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in this history of mankind.

Mankind — that word should have new meaning for all of us today.

We can’t be consumed by our petty differences anymore.

We will be united in our common interests.

Perhaps its fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution — but from annihilation.

We’re fighting for our right to live, to exist.

And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice:

“We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We’re going to live on!

We’re going to survive!”

Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

So apparently today they are having a say yes to the dress marathon on TLC. And I find myself watching shows like this because as a sewer and costume designer I enjoy watching all the different dresses. But even as someone who knows how much goes into sewing, how much fabrics cost I can not believe what some brides will pay for a gown. There was one bride who paid 20, 000 dollars for a custom made designer gown. And than when she came in she decided she didn’t like it. Than she got another dress by the same designer that was 27,000 dollars. Came back and decided she wanted the lace taken off the skirt. Which IMO and in her dad opinion too ruined the gown. I mean really?! Oh and mind you she didn’t like the first one because she wanted lots of heavy beading and the top to be see through. This is impossible. With the heavy beading the see through material would have fallen away from her body.

So than we go from the amazingly shockingly priced bride to the bride whose mother hated everything she put on. Just hated it. I mean wasn’t just like “I don’t like it” she was Brutal. And there was one gown with a Victorian lace overlay (BEAUTIFUL) that the bride just LOVED she was near in tears when she came out in it. And her mother was cruel to it. But the bride ended up picking that dress anyone. And mom ended up dealing with it. I just don’t think she was the kind of mom who was going to be happy with anything her daughter picked. Because her daughter had very different taste. She had taste kind of like me. Out there.

So I am enjoying this show but the way some people act just startles me. It makes me go seriously? Why? It is also making me remember that in two years I will be renewing my vows with my husband out at the MN Renaissance festival. Which is where I wanted to get married but they were booked the year I wanted to get married. So we decided for 5 years we would renew out there. Nice huh? But now I am left with the thought of what I should do for my renewal gown. I want to be comfortable, and yet I want to be a Queen for the day. Not that I didn’t look fantastic on my original wedding day (I think I did) but I really want to be a Queen. So I am thinking full renaissance regalia, with Purples and creams. Because well I don’t get to wear purple out there much unless I am being sneaky. (Which I am known to do). So who knows what I will do its two years away, but I am thinking about it now for obvious reasons. Gowns take a while to make. Especially major gowns. It is time to start sketching.
