Born in the Tundra of Minnesota, I have since become a bit of a Gypsy. Currently calling home base the hot sands of Arizona, I do still travel often. Whether the journey is a physical one, or one taken by reading a fantastic book it doesn't matter, the fun is always in the adventure. As always I am an eclectic person that likes a wide array of things and has many passions. Creating, advocating for animals and Mothering just to name a few.

I have not watched a Knights Tale in sometime it was a regular rotational watch with my dear friend Vere. I have tried of course many times to watch it in the last year and a half, but I always put it back on the shelf because it feels wrong. I miss my friend. Why then as I haven’t watched the film in so long did the love letter from the movie come to mind you may ask?

Simple,  I miss my dear Cubby and of course sweet Pasha as well. I miss Pasha just as much truly I do but the hole where Cubby was often seems more tender at times. I suspect it is because as cuddly and loving as Pasha was and he was indeed always there when I needed him, he was also fairly independent. He would go and cuddle with others in the family as well, just in general he seemed to keep his own bit of a schedule. Cubby was forever and always by my side. On the occasion he could not come with me on errands or journey’s he would curl up upon my bed and wait. I had to face time him sometimes on longer trips just to keep him from getting to upset and worried.

So I always would find myself reaching to pet him as I always at various times throughout the day it was just a habit I picked up over our long years together. I did this again today and of course he was not there. That is when I found myself softly saying “I miss you like the sun misses the flower. Like the sun misses the flower in the depths of winter. Instead of beauty to direct its light to the heart hardens like the frozen world your absence has banished me to.”, as Wat did during the scene where they are writing the letter with William. So many heart strings tugged and never a truer comment has ever been said. It is also true for Heath and Prince… those who inspired as well as tagged along as life trundled along.

It is okay to miss those who are gone, it is okay to allow the pain to stop in your tracks here and there. It is not okay to let it completely consume you so that you stop. The world will keep turning no matter what. I have to remind myself in these moments.

Dear Jocelyn,
It is strange to think,I have not seen you in a month.

I have seen the new moon, but not you.

I have seen sunsets and sunrises, but nothing of your beautiful face.

The pieces of my broken heart can pass through the eye of a needle.

I miss you like the sun misses the flower.Like the sun misses the flower in the depths of winter.

Instead of beauty to direct its light to,the heart hardens like the frozen world your absence has sent me to.

I next compete in Paris.I’ll find it empty and cold if you’re not there.

Hope guides me.It gets me through the day and especially the night. The hope that after you leave my sight it will not be the last time I look upon you.

With all the love that I possess…I remain yours…

The knight of your heart.

William.

I do think the box says it all. Cubby has been helping with the crafts again. Nevermind I had planned on using this box for some of my stuff. Needless to say while I am busy working away on work or relaxing projects he sleeps in his box.

I want to thank everyone for the wonderful comments about Jellie and Bellie and the names 🙂 I am sorry I am behind on replying separately to each one been insanely busy lately.

Today we will show how the cats have decided to help with the letters and such I am trying to catch up on. Do pardon the lounge in the background doing some work over there. LOL in this we see from left to right, Little A, Thor and Bastet being so helpful!

Meet Jellie and Bellie. Jellie is the one with the cone of shame one, this picture was taken some years ago. She had the Cone of Shame because she had some feline acne she would not stop scratching. But I like the picture over all. Sadly we lost Bellie to a sudden heart attack two years ago. Jellie and Bellie were sisters and came to me when they were barely walking. Jellie and Bellies Mama had been run over by a tractor on the farm and the gal who had them did not know how to care for kittens so young, so I took them in and bottle fed them although they were just starting to eat some wet food. They were so tiny at first I called them Itsy and Bitsy. One day however I came home from work and found them fighting over a Jellie Bellie back they had managed to get a hole of..yes the Candy! So I called them Jellie and Bellie and it stuck.

Such sweet girls! When Bellie passed Jellie was not so sure what to do with herself and became a kitty who refused to get off the kitchen counter top for a long time. She would get down to go to the litter box but we had to keep food and water up there for her, she was sure that the floor would burn her or something. She earned the nick name squirrley girl and Ole Gal (her age as second oldest in the house) for these things. However not to long ago she gave up her vigil on the counter and now she spends snuggle time in the bedroom and is almost back to her old self. She still has her moments of odd ball but hey we love the ole gal!

Our latest rescue who came into the family in April has settled in and is looking fantastic. She had a spay and removal of BB surgery when she came home but her hair has grown back in. The other kitties are slowly becoming her friends and she is the firm and happy ruler of the Library and all she surveys. Such a lovely friendly girl. So happy to have her in the family.

Updated to Add her name is Bastet silly me for not putting that in!

Since the last weeks I have highlighted two members of the L Team I will now show the final one. Lilly, she has like her sisters left us now. But only in body she will like her sisters be with us in spirit forever. Lilly was a character she was the first to yell about the food or water bowl being empty. She would fuss if things were not JUST right. However if you did not feel good she would also sit with you and purr until you felt better, and she was just very laid back. She loved love, she did not care who was giving it, Mom, Dad or someone who came to visit the house. If there was hands that were free they should be petting little miss Lilly bug and she made sure you knew about it.

Missed last week due to being a bit busy but I love this Meme so back today!

Picture870

This is Lace, she was Lyla’s sister and the second member of what we always lovingly called “The L Team”. We have since lost her as well but she was a Mama’s girl. So sweet and loving to Mama, but she was not a fan of Dad. Now some of what was his fault but it was for a good reason. When Lace was a kitten she was about to step on some broken glass that I was cleaning up and Dad tried to catch her so that she wouldn’t hurt herself unfortunately he ended up catching her by the tail. This was a slight that Lace never forgot. That is until Lyla passed away after Lyla passed she seemed to soften some towards Dad and would sit near him. Proving to him what I always said she really was a sweet girl when she wanted to be.

This is Lyla. She was Cubby and Thor’s Mom. She has since crossed the rainbow bridge and is much missed around here. Lyla was such a sweet cat and was often called the nurse kitty because when you were sick she would always watch after you. Not only that she enjoyed knocking down the advil bottle and rolling it towards you. She was a treasure and my DH’s (mine too) heart broke when she passed. It is never easy to have one go, but I have never seen his grief quite so much as when he lost Lyla. That said she lives on in her Son’s and our memories of her.

Today I shall introduce Cubby he is Thor’s big Brother and a big ole cuddle bug and coward. He is the biggest cat of the house 13lbs at his last weigh in and it is not fat he is just a big boy. Yet he is the bottom of the totem because he just is so sweet and gentle. Cubby loves having a box to sleep in alas his box usually gets stolen from him. So the other day when I had some 7 or so boxes out he plopped into one..and got a look on his face that you can clearly see here is “I got a box!” “I got a box and no one is stealing it from me!!!!” That’s my Cubby.

Well I am a little late on this, but I am taking part in a new weekly Meme. This one is hosted over at The True Book Addict.

Welcome to the weekly meme that celebrates the wonders and sometime hilarity of cats! Join us by posting a favorite LOL cat pic you may have come across, famous cat art or even share with us pics of your own beloved cat(s). It’s all for the love of cats! Enjoy!

Today I am going to post a picture of one of my kitties. This is Thor (his Brother Cubbys is behind him). Thor is a Persian and a darling boy. He loves to cuddle but not be picked up or held. He has to cuddle on HIS terms. He is not much of a mewer like he could not sort out how to do it. So he either is silent when he meows or he squeaks. I love my Thor baby.
