Born in the Tundra of Minnesota, I have since become a bit of a Gypsy. Currently calling home base the hot sands of Arizona, I do still travel often. Whether the journey is a physical one, or one taken by reading a fantastic book it doesn't matter, the fun is always in the adventure. As always I am an eclectic person that likes a wide array of things and has many passions. Creating, advocating for animals and Mothering just to name a few.

The True Book Addict.

This is Lyla. She was Cubby and Thor’s Mom. She has since crossed the rainbow bridge and is much missed around here. Lyla was such a sweet cat and was often called the nurse kitty because when you were sick she would always watch after you. Not only that she enjoyed knocking down the advil bottle and rolling it towards you. She was a treasure and my DH’s (mine too) heart broke when she passed. It is never easy to have one go, but I have never seen his grief quite so much as when he lost Lyla. That said she lives on in her Son’s and our memories of her.

She was a real beauty. I know what you mean about nursing. Some kitties are really perceptive when you are sick and know just how to comfort you. My son said that when he did the RSPCA working with animals course they talked about how the cats purr and let off special chemicals from their cheek glands by rubbing on us – and it really does make us feel better.
I’m so sad for you guys, it’s so hard when you lose a dear pet, and only other animals lovers understand. You do need the full time to grieve in your own way. My son was very saddened by the loss of our dog who had grown up with him, and it affected him deeply, too.

  2. What a beautiful cat and she sounds like a sweetheart. It’s so hard to let them go.

  3. What a beauty….and what an amazin personality it sounds lie she had…And they do live with us forever…

  4. Beautiful Lyla! I hope she is happy over the Rainbow Bridge. It is always so hard to lose one. I’ve had so many over the years and it never gets easier. Thanks for sharing your precious memories of Lyla with us.
